What is WIC ?

WIC stands for  (Women, Infants, & Children) .

This is a USDA Food  and Nutrition Service (FNS) public health program for the health care and nutrition of low-income pregnant women, breastfeeding women and children under five .
(See infant nutrition programs.) Their mission is to partner with
other services that are essential to the well-being of the child and the family.

The basic eligibility requirement is family income below 185% of the poverty level.
Most states allow   automatic income eligibility when a person or family participates in certain benefit programs .
